How far away is heaven?
Is it 25,000 miles?...
Well, I tried that once
but I only wound up right back where I started out.
So how far away is heaven?
It used to be about 30 feet
from my bedroom door to his bedroom door
across a wooden hallway floor.
But I know he's not there anymore...
as that old, rickety house
that we used to live in
is probably torn down to the ground by now.
So how far away is heaven?
Is it somewhere inside of me?
Well - if it is - I know hell's there too -
the same hell my mom went through.
So how far away is heaven?
I just want to know...
'cause from where I'm standing,
heaven seems like a place I'd really like to go.
