The Irony of it All

The Irony of it All

Resuscitatingly breathing
with irony seething
at the times you took my breath away

The first time we met
was the first time you'd let
me steal your soul that day

I'd given a heart
given a rose
as neither would ever die
Not while cherished
by the heart of you -
the heart that was in your eyes

As through heaven and hell,
the devil would tell
and the angels would all reply
I questioned 'em all
From heaven I'd fall,
then I'd rush back to heavenly sky

The devil would say
that you were okay,
for your soul was too priceless to buy
In heaven they'd say
that you were okay,
and that you needn't to ever die

Already an angel -
and even more -
you were forever to be in my mind
Already an angel -
and even more -
they'd say I was still alive

Deep within you
and I'm still within you -
so deep in your heart and your mind
Resuscitated and breathing
with irony seething
time after its every time

But irony's sulken just like the rest
A granited stone, my name
You were the one
who left me breathless
and now you sadly desire the same

But know that I breathe
through the valves of your heart
and in the recesses of your mind
Know that I breathe
as irony seethes
like it has its every time

Know that I'm yours
Know that I'm yours
and know that you'll always be mine
I'll never really die
not while I'm...
so deep in your heart and your mind
