An Idiot's Guide to Flying

An Idiot's Guide to Flying

I fly
so my feet won't touch the ground,
and so it won't hurt so much
when I have to look down

I live
after falling from the sky
But- unlike the sun-
I know I'll never rise

I walk
with the water at my feet
when I no longer feel like drowning
in the times that I'm within

I breathe
in the waters- bittersweet
I'm no longer drowning,
but I never should've been

I love
you even though
I know I'll never be loved in return

And still through all of this
I know
impossible's just a thing we learn
