A Penny from Heaven

A Penny from Heaven

There's a kind look from heaven -
a moment of truth
A moment of truth from the blackened sky
But with far too many
unfortunate beggars,
all that truth's a lie

Those kind eyes abandon
They kindly abandon
all they've once shined upon
Midnights lonely have stranded
The lonely are stranded
in what was once the coldened dawn

A flag as a blanket
is only a blanket
until it's burning to keep hope alive;
but as nothing's left but the ash of a blanket,
hope alone's survived

A penny from heaven is given,
A penny is given
finally landing on tails
But the fortunate beggar
made it to heaven
far before the penny had fell
