Selling Lies

Selling Lies

I sell lies
'cause inflation's got the truth
too priceless of a commodity
to afford.

I've bought truths before;
but am often left
wondering why some
refuse keep their Word.

I've bitten my tongue
on fallen knees
praying to be blessed more often than
when I sneeze.

I sit in a coffin
until I freeze.
I've written so often -
in an ease -
that decomposing's just a symptom
of our disease.

And I guess to be pure's
the cure,
but no one's sippin on that medicine.
I'm selling lies
'cause
the truth has jettisoned;

and, frankly, 'cause
it's all that anyone's willing to buy.

I'm definitely willing to sell more,
but all you want are lies.
