When We All Must Fade Away

When We All Must Fade Away

Both a heart and pine
are stained
a simple charcoal gray,
as some times there are times
when we all must fade away

But this pine's too small and
this time's too soon
And some times
we all die
without a single wound

And some times there are times
when we all must fade away
Some times there are times
when we only have a day

When the only broken-hearted
are the ones who have to stay,
some times there are times
when we all must fade away

Now some times there are times
when we're all just born still
They take our womb away
against our every will

But the look on momma's face
when she laid her eyes on me
was the only heaven, surely,
that I would ever need

I've seen a beauty in her eyes
that took my breath away
And if I only had the words,
I'd forever say

that you- alone- are heaven,
although I've died too soon
And I know you've died a thousand times
without a single wound

And if I only had a world,
I'd forever stay
But you're my heaven surely
in every, single way

And some times there are times
when we all must fade away,
while the only broken-hearted
are the ones who have to stay

I only lived long enough
to get to see your face,
but I thank Him for that moment
I thank Him for that day
